Yesterday, I had my first chance to announce to our established group of National Users about our new blog. You see, a blog, is pretty new to me and most of my users. My communication in the past had been through formal communication channels. The ability to process thoughts and passing key information to our end users through my laptop while traveling is just a wonder.

So, my first experience with this technology comes from our webmaster (and also from my boss). They say, “you are going to be an author for a blog.” Wow–it sounded like work to me. As I researched the topic more this started sounding like fun but only if others respond back and engage, though.

My second experience was the announcement to the National Users. As I was announcing it on the conference call, I heard tapping away on their keyboards. Users visited the blog and laughter started. They were enjoying our profile pictures and my use of the term “new-fangled technology” and “blogs”– I have since learned to only call it a BLOG with no “S”.

Anyway, this is my first real attempt at starting activity on the blog and I expect users to take advantage of this opportunity to share information to users, to product management and open up any topic to help us all learn and gain more value in our jobs.

Happy Blogging–hmm… I’ll have to look that up in Wikipedia. Ok, if you don’t know what Wikipedia is, just GOOGLE it.

Editor’s Note: The National Users Group has been dissolved during our restructuring. We hope to create a new users group in the future that better represents all lines of business.
