We are reviewing technically now. As important as delivery point validation (DPV) we want to put it into the compatability mode. At this point, plan on getting DPV and LACs in FINAL, FINALOL AND FINALI and native calls.
The Finalist calls that my company uses will be covered with the proposal you have laid out for continuing support of the compatibility interface. I do have some of questions about this proposal:
1. If Group 1 continues to support the compatibility interface as laid out in this proposal, how long will that be for? Are you talking about indefinitely or just a longer timeframe than the original 2008 date?
2. Will the future Address Quality Adapters work if a company is using the compatibility interface?
3. If a company decides to move away from using the compatibility interface, would we be able to get the Group 1 design specifications and/or pseudo code for the compatibility interface?
We use Finalist on an NT server with Windows 2000. We execute in a batch model to generate an output file that can be pre-processed for Mailstream Plus. Will Finalist be supported throughout 2007?
Finalist will not be going away. It will be supported as a viable Pitney Bowes Group 1 CASS engine. Sorry for the confusion.
Finalist is being used to correct the customer addresses in our database but we our having problems with the geographic mapping of the customer locations.
For example,
Finalist takes say 350 W Broadway (really 350 La Guardia) and turns it into 350 Broadway.
Is there any way to Fix this?
This will have to be analyzed by the technical support folks to give you some guidance or alternate work arounds. Have you had a chance to visit www.g1.com/support and log this in as a problem?
